About Us

We're an independent team that covers one series of pokies and nothing else. Neither ELK Studios nor any casino runs this site. On this page you'll find what we check before we publish, what we refuse to claim and how the site keeps the lights on.

What we check before publishing

All six games share the same birds, a similar interface and often the same headline numbers, which makes them easy to mix up. So every feature, trigger and price has to come from a source naming the exact game.

  1. The game's own screens. Rules and paytable screens come first, because that's what you'll be looking at when you play.
  2. ELK Studios material. After that we go to product sheets, data sheets and the official game pages.
  3. Independent reviews. These fill gaps when the first two say nothing, and the text makes clear the number is reported.
  4. Conflicts. When sources still disagree, we say so on the page and leave the number out instead of picking one.

If a figure varies around the web, the game guide tells you what else you might see and which one we've gone with.

What we won't do

  • Promise wins, or suggest that a game or bonus mode can be beaten.
  • Publish made-up sessions, buy tests or average returns. A number from a tracker or a review gets labelled as such and treated as a sample.
  • Tell you a casino or a feature is licensed or available in New Zealand without a primary source for it.

The Online Casino Gambling Act took effect on 1 May 2026, and the Department of Internal Affairs oversees it. Online casinos that haven't applied for a licence must stop operating here from 1 December 2026, and the department expects to issue licences from early 2027. During the changeover, providers must not advertise to people in New Zealand. Licensed casinos will appear on a public register and carry a registration icon, and that's the check to use once it exists. Details are on the department's online gambling page for players.

How we make money

The site is designed to be funded by affiliate links. If a Play button or the offer at the top of a page carries one and you sign up through it, the casino may pay us a commission, at no cost to you.

That's a genuine interest, so here's where it stops. Commission can decide which offer we show. It doesn't change the facts in our game guides, including the unflattering ones like the low RTP versions of Pirots 5.

The games we cover

Six guides, one for each Pirots pokie.

Each of the three worlds adds a villain feature and coin game of its own on a CollectR grid that grows from 6x6 to 8x8. At 9x9, the Inferno coin game is the biggest grid of the lot.

When it stops being fun

Decide on a budget before you start, and stop when it's gone. If that's getting harder, free support is available in New Zealand for you or for someone close to you.

Questions about us

No, we're independent of both. Affiliate links are how the site is meant to pay its way.

We don't publish session stories or test results at all. The guides rest on rules screens, paytables, ELK sheets and third-party data, and we say which is which.

Email [email protected] with the page and your source. If it checks out, we fix the page and update its date.
